The 43rd edition of the Festival Internacional Cervantino (International Cervantes festival, FIC), one of the most dynamic and significant cultural events in the world, is taking place from 7 to 25 October 2015 in Guanajuato, its host city. The festival is gaining a reputation as a space for reflection, coexistence and critical analysis of society through the action and viewpoints of the Mexican and foreign artists who take part.
María Ángeles Mellado, Assistant Director of the foundation of Almagro Classical Theatre Festival, has been invited to take part in this year’s FIC with the support of the AC/E Mobility grants. Previously, through the Visitors grants, the managers’ meeting of Almagro Festival was attended by planners from FIC. The aim of the visit is to promote and disseminate Almagro Festival, support and facilitate the overseas promotion of Spanish playwrights, bring together international managers to establish new channels for collaboration, and promote Spain’s Golden Age heritage abroad.
