The Dansez Maintenant International Festival is committed to spreading contemporary dance to as many people as possible. Dance Now is a week-long summer platform from July 2nd to 8th 2018 and is open to all audiences, from beginners to professionals, and aims to reflect the universality of dance by making it accessible and engaging. Two festival days are open to the public, showcasing established artists and companies from around the world as well as revealing the week's work of artistic residencies that take place at the Castle.
The festival will be held in an exceptional, authentic and idyllic setting in the service of art and culture: the Château de Véretz. The Chateau boasts a heritage that spectators will be invited to discover from the inside during historic visits, walks in the forest or adventure in the 19 Acres of cellars and undergrounds dug into the hillside.
AC/E supports the participation of Spanish choreographer Antonio Ruz that will give a choreographic workshop, in which in addition to teaching the technique of contemporary dance acquired throughout his career, he will create a piece that will be presented on the day of open doors as an absolute world premiere, leaving in the environments of the Loire a trace of the Spanish choreographic heritage.
Also, the members of the company Humanhood (based in Barcelona) will give an intensive course to professional dancers and perform their show to the public.
Finally, the Spaniard Javier Rodriguez Cobos will perform his show "Brother from Another Mother".
