Santa Cruz de la Sierra international book fair, now in its 16th year, is a cultural platform where readers and writers can interact. It caters to all areas of culture: music, literature, dance and theatre.
Since 2014, the fair has hosted the II Encuentro Internacional de Poesía en la Ciudad de los Anillos, an international poetry convention aimed at various generations, expressive trends, regions of the world and poetic and cultural traditions. The poets attending the event read their poems in Spanish to large audiences in the rooms and conference halls of Santo Cruz de la Sierra international book fair, as well as in various parks such as “El Fuerte” nature reserve in Samaipata.
Its main goal is to maintain a collective awareness of society through poetry. This activity brings together poets from all over Ibero-America. Over the course of seven days poems are read and the poets taking part in the event interact to make Ibero-American poetry known to visitors. Spanish female poets Carmen María Camacho and Raquel Lanseros are participating in the convention with the support of AC/E’s programme for the internationalisation of Spanish culture.
