Bogota international book fair (FILBO) is a hybrid event aimed at all kinds of audiences. It is held yearly to provide a business environment for the publishing industry and a major meeting place for the national and international publishing sectors. It was established in 1987 and enjoys international recognition. In recent years it has consolidated its position as one of the most important high-level events in Latin America and is one of the leading cultural and commercial fairs of the Colombian capital.
The female writers Lara Moreno and Elvira Navarro and the illustrator Pep Carrió are taking part in this year’s fair thanks to the support provided by AC/E through its programme for the internationalisation of Spanish culture. All three are involved in ‘Conversaciones que le cambiarán la vida’ (Conversations that will change your life), the cultural epicentre of FILBO with a programme of talks and workshops featuring more than 60 activities for 12 days each year. This space seeks to promote diversity and cultural sustainability through exchanges and debates between the guest authors. The latter have the chance to explain their experiences, motivations and relationships in connection with their literary creations, which is also a means of promoting their oeuvre.
