FANTASPOA is the main film festival devoted exclusively to fantasy as a genre (also including the science fiction, horror and thriller sub-genres) in Latin America. It has been held annually in Porto Alegro since 2005, from 15 to 31 May.
This year, the 11th, the festival will screen more than 70 feature-length and 45 short films, mostly from Brazil but also a carefully chosen selection from other countries. The more than 40 foreign guests who will take part in the sessions with commentaries, workshops, talks and other activities include Spaniards Samuel Ortí Martí, Bernat Saumell, Héctor Hernández Vicens and Juan Carlos Fresnadillo, who received support from AC/E through the Mobility grants.
