Juan Manuel de Prada is an accomplished Spanish writer with an extensive literary oeuvre and a large output as a journalist. He has received several prizes, among them the Planeta award in 1997 for La Tempestad; the Primavera novel award in 2003 and the national award for narrative in 2004, for La vida invisible, and the Biblioteca Breve award in 2007 for El séptimo velo. His latest novel, Morir bajo tu cielo, is precisely set in the Philippines in 1998 and is “An admirable novel that combines the adventurous spirit of Joseph Conrad and the motion of John Ford” (Pere Gimferrer).
