The Encuentro nacional e internacional de mujeres poetas (national and international conference of women poets), now in its twentieth edition, brings together the most prominent voices in poetry written by women at one of the region’s most important cultural events.
AC/E is collaborating with the festival for the first time through its mobility programme by supporting the participation of the young poets Ángela Castellanos and Verónica Aranda whose agenda includes activities such as poetry recitals in different municipalities, book launches, lectures and workshops.
The Encuentro is an event devoted specifically to women’s literary creation, a space for readings, reflection and the exchange of experiences, the recognition of differences and the cultural integration of peoples and nations fostered by enhanced appreciation and dissemination of poetry written by women.
The poetry conference also features a practice that is unprecedented in Colombian cultural life: theCasas de Poesía, where guest poets take part simultaneously in readings in family homes in the region.
