The aim of the 3rd Encuentro Iberoamericano de Escritores Cinematográficos (Ibero-American film writers’ conference) is to bring together scriptwriters of Ibero-America to analyse, discuss and reflect on the role of film genres in screenwriting through panel discussions, masterclasses and roundtables.
The idea is to give continuity to the professionalisation of screenwriters in order to strengthen and internationalise the film industry of Ibero-America.
The goals of this third conference are:
1. Help improve the quality of the content, structures and narrative of the stories told in a film script.
2. Exchange theories, techniques and focuses for writing and developing film scripts.
3. Share successful practices and experiences for the dissemination, promotion and sale of film scripts.
4. Recognise film scriptwriters as creators, bearers of culture and cultural opinion leaders.
5. Encourage conditions for creating and promoting scripts and stories of higher quality that boost the film industry.
The Encuentro will take place over a four-day period and will consist of masterclasses, panels and roundtables, special screenings and pitching of screenplays to professional producers from the industry.
Spaniards Carlo López and Alicia Luna are taking part with the support of AC/E’s Programme for the Internationalisation of Spanish Culture.
