Encounter "Enrique Gil. The Lord of Bembibre"

"El Señor de Bembibre" is a historical novel by the Spanish writer Enrique Gil y Carrasco, published in 1844. Studied in some Spanish universities, its impact on the history of Spanish Romantic literature has been valued as a precursor to novel cycles. historical.

Since the first edition of “El Señor de Bembibre” in 1844, numerous subsequent editions have been made, in different modes and formats. On this occasion, within the framework of Spain Guest of Honor at the Frankfurt Book Fair, translations of the novel into English, French, German and Chinese are presented at a meeting that takes place at the Cervantes Institute in Berlin and at the Humboldt University of this same city, on June 27, 28 and 29. The event includes readings and conferences on this work in which its German translator, Florian Weber, and Professor Javier Gómez-Montero, among others, participate.s. 

In 2015, on the occasion of the bicentenary of his birth, the International Congress: Enrique Gil and Romanticism took place, and subsequently, AC/E supported the itinerancy of the exhibition Enrique Gil: un romántico en la construcción de Europa ebetween 2020 and 2021.
