East London Comics & Arts Festival (ELCAF) is the annual festival devoted to all aspects of comics, graphic novels, sequential art and illustration in East London. ELCAF was founded in 2012 with the aim of introducing and promoting both small publications in press and the dynamic community of individual artists and groups that stretch the limits of comics, illustrations, and graphic and sequential art both in the United Kingdom and abroad. ELCAF has been growing enormously every year since its establishment, adding further rooms and exhibitors, and receiving an increasing number of visitors. ELCAF 2015 will run for more than two days and will include an extensive programme of events, including talks, workshops and masterclasses.
Spanish artists and illustrators Max, Cristina Daura, Ricardo Cavolo, Joan Casaramona, José Domingo and Juan Díaz Faes are taking part in this year’s festival with the support of AC/E. They will share their working experiences at the festival through demonstrations of drawing, small shows of their oeuvre, workshops and talks. Brighton-based painter and illustrator Ricardo Cavolo will have a monographic exhibition devoted to his work at the NewGallery, entitled Emblema.
