Dresdner Musikfestpiele 2015

The 38th Dresden Music Festival is scheduled to run from 13 May to 7 June 2015 with the general title “Fire and Ice” and will show music from the North and the South. Some 2,500 artists and collaborators take part in the festival every year, making Dresden one of the most important music hubs on the German and international scenes. This year’s festival features more than 40 concerts at 17 different venues in the city.

AC/E is collaborating with the festival by supporting the participation of the Spanish group Al Ayre español with a programme entitled Cantadas Humanas. La Música Secular en España y su Contexto Europeo (Secular music in Spain and its European context) that features the most important European secular music of the eighteenth century. The group’s programme includes both very well-known pieces and unpublished Spanish pieces recovered from Latin American archives.
