MA scène nationale makes artists and the audience the centrepiece of its activity and proposes a multidisciplinary, international and highly contemporary programme, an ambitious artistic and educational programme and a programme of artists’ residencies, all of which are annual.
The fifth artistic season under the direction of Yannick Marzin features Compañía Voadora’s production of Don Juan and a concert by Maika Makovski for the official public presentation of the 2016/2017 season.
Voadora is performing this play on freedom and the role of older people in contemporary society at the Théâtre Montbéliard at 8pm on 1 August. Don Juan involves two weeks’ work with 20 local volunteers aged over 65. Under the direction of Marta Pazos, a dialogue between theatre and life is established between Molière’s classic text and the reality of the participants. The final performance is a celebration of life and an act of rebellion against the clichés of old age.
Maika Makovski’s concert and the Victor Hugo Franche Comté symphonic orchestra will be held at the Théâtre Montbéliard at 8pm on 7 October. Following the success of Maika Makovski’s first performance in France on the stage of MA scène nationale last April, MA is triply committed to this Spanish artist with an outstanding voice and is promoting her internationally by making her the image of its 2016/2017 season (taking over from French actor and dancer Cédric Charron, the face for this year’s campaign). Maika’s photo to illustrate MA’s image will be taken by the reputed photographer Gregoire Korganow.
