Documenta Madrid 2015

Documenta Madrid 2015

From 30 April to 10 May, DocumentaMadrid, the festival devoted exclusively to ‘real-life cinema’, is opening at CINETECA to show the best films produced in the genre this season all over the world. More than 70 titles (feature-length and short documentaries) can be seen at the prestigious Madrid theatre, which has become an icon of documentary films in Spain.

AC/E is collaborating with this year’s festival by supporting the participation of prominent international festival planners Mallory Lance (Tribeca Film festival), Raúl Niño Zambrano (IDFA), Jeremy Verain (RIDM Rencontres Internationales du Documentaire Montréal) and Daniel Ribas (Porto Post Doc).

The competition section brings together a careful selection of major international productions of the year, which have never been shown in Spain. In addition, in its effort to support the documentary cinema produced in Spain, DocumentaMadrid is again featuring the section entitled Panorama del Documental Español (Overview of the Spanish documentary).

These films are increasingly varied in theme and form and are gaining importance on the international scene every year, thereby helping disseminate Spanish culture throughout the world. A retrospective on the work of an internationally renowned creator of Spanish origin and a special cycle designed in collaboration with Filmoteca Española complete the programme of screenings of a festival that also features a variety of complementary activities, roundtables and workshops.
