Doclisboa 2016

Doclisboa 2016

Doclisboa wants to question the present of film, bringing along its history and assuming cinema as a mode of freedom. By refusing the categorization of film practice, it searches for the new problematics that cinematic image implies, in its multiple ways of engagement with the contemporary.
Doclisboa tries to be a place to imagine reality through new modes of perception, reflection, and possible new forms of action.

This edition programmes, in a collaboration with Filmoteca de Coruña, films by Galician filmmakers from the beginning of the 20th Century. Andrès Duque presents 'Oleg y las raras artes' in the International Competition. There is also set of masterclasses by several Spanish professionals and two spanish representatives in the juries.

Arché is a platform for creative development that supports independent, authorial films. It stems from the idea that the production of a film is a shared process between directors, producers and other elements, devising working, economic and collaboration models, suited to the uniqueness of each project.

Arché has started a partnership with the Márgenes Film Festival's professional lab, MRG/WORK. This partnership aims the circulation of film projects, knowledge and experience sharing, as well as for the circulation of films. The partnership is now being enlarged to UnionDocs and other partners.
