With the collaboration of AC/E, Fordham University and ‘Jazz at Lincoln Center’ are hosting Dis-locations at the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts with the support of the Spanish consulate in New York. This event combines a music programme, with adaptations of the works of composers Luigi Boccherini, Roberto Gerhard and Ricardo Llorca, with poetry recitations and talks by the participants. It is thus a musical and intellectual show that reflects on the negotiation between identity and exile in Spain. It is made possible by an excellent artistic team consisting of a string orchestra of nine musicians, a pianists, a singer, an orchestra conductor, two university professors (from Columbia University and NYU), a writer (from the University of Pennsylvania) and a composer (from the Juilliard School of Music).
