Different 7! L'Autre Cinema Espagnol 2014

The project Different! L'Autre Cinema Espagnol, run by the Espagnolas en París association, has been promoting and disseminating Spanish auteur cinema in France for several years, and has become a prominent Spanish film event in Paris.

The programme features screenings of twelve internationally successful and award-winning films that have not been distributed in France, two professional meetings and a concert by Spanish and French artists.

Rendez-vous à l’Opéra! is a working lunch at the Grand Hotel de Ópera, which brings together the crème-de-la-crème of French distributors and the sellers of the scheduled films in order to encourage them to attend the screenings where the films are shown only once to an audience.

In Small is biútiful, another working lunch, some 35 French producers have the chance to discover half a dozen Spanish low-budget independent projects with their respective directors and producers.

The Espagnolas en la intimidad concert on 21 June, a music festival, puts the finishing touch to a day devoted to films in which music plays a major role.

For this year’s Different!, the seventh to be held, Espagnolas en Paris has invited directors Pablo Llorca, Alberto Morais, Asier Merino, Fernando Franco, Manuel Martín Cuenca, Javier Corcuera, Ventura Pons, Juan Cavestany, Gabriel Velázquez, and Mar Coll to present their work with the collaboration of the AC/E mobility awards.
