The cultural association Danza Urbana has been organising Danza Urbana (DU), an international dance festival in urban landscapes, every year since 1997. Its main purpose is to experiment and rediscover the city and its architecture through dance, with performances by artists from all over the world. The 19th edition of the festival will have a Spain Focus with three Spanish companies: La Veronal, Physical Momentum Project and Lali Ayguadè.
The DU festival is producing La Veronal’s new project called Bologna –Trilogy of Life, which is devoted specifically to the city of Bologna and is inspired by the work of Pier Paolo Pasolini. The project begins in September 2015 and ends in September 2016.
During 2015 the company will hold a two-week creative residence in Bologna, at the end of which it will present the project publically on 13 and 15 September as part of the DU festival. Marcos Morao is furthermore one of the guests who will open the festival with a meeting of professionals on landscape and dance.
In 2016 the company will hold another 20-day residence in Bologna that will end with the premiere performance of Bologna-Trilogy of life in the beautiful Pier Paolo Pasolini park, which will be opened in 2016 as part of the events held in the city of Bologna to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the death of the writer, director and artist.
AC/E is supporting the first part of this project (2015) through its grants for the Internationalisation of Spanish Culture.
