The Curtas Vila do Conde International Film Festival, with more than two decades of experience, is one of the most important film events in Europe. Since its beginings it has focused on the short film, providing the recognition of this form of filmmaking. It has now expanded its programme with more activities, and includes in its programme films, lectures, debates, exhibitions and other events of the film industry.
From 4 to 12 July, Vila do Conde becomes once again in the Portuguese capital of cinema, with a varied programme where different audiences can share the experience of seeing the best in film and performing arts. In this edition of the festival, Spanish cinema was represented by three films and their authors: Little Block of Cement With Dishevelled Hair Containing The Sea, by Jorge Fernandez, selected for the section No Short Matters!; Diámbulo by Javier García Martínez, selected for the International Competition; and the world premiere of the new documentary by director Lois Patiño. The latter is the result of a collaboration between producer and Curtas Metragens CRL, head of Curtas Vila do Conde - International Film Festival.
