Crack, Bang, Boom 2015. Convención Internacional de Historietas de Rosario

The international comic-book convention Crack Bang Boom - CBB is a major celebration in which more than 30,000 people take part every year. With a guest country and an artist to whom tribute is paid every year, it features talks, exhibitions, screenings, national and international guests, book launches and publishers’ presentations, and encourages exchanges between professionals and amateurs. It functions as a space for enjoyment and for promoting the comic book industry.

The 2015 edition of CBB has chosen the USA as guest country and is placing special emphasis on the link between comic books and new technologies. Two books are being launched and published in connection with the festival: a translation of an American publication and an anthology of Argentine strip cartoonists from each part of the country.

Horacio Altuna is taking part in this year’s festival with the support of AC/E’s internationalisation programme and is one of the artists to whom tribute is being paid at this 6th edition of the CBB. As well as being awarded a distinction, he is giving a masterclass on the opening day at the Centro de Expresiones Contemporáneas. He is also teaching a workshop for artists, illustrators and scriptwriters, while a retrospective of his work will be held at the exhibition rooms of the Centro Cultural Roberto Fontanarrosa. He will be accompanied by his colleague Juan Giménez, another historical Ibero-American strip cartoonist.
