This two-day conference on underwater archaeology is being organised by the Fundación Germán Sánchez Ruipérez at the Casa del Lector (Matadero) with the collaboration of AC/E through the visitor grants awarded under the PICE to support the participation of the foreign speakers.
The participants will include Carmen Marcos and Susana García Ramírez, curators of The Last Voyage of the Frigate Mercedes. A Cultural Treasure Recovered, which is co-organised by Acción Cultural Española and the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport and opens at the Museo Arqueológico Nacional at the end of May 2014. It is the first exhibition to be staged at the museum following its recent reopening.
