The Centre for Research and Conservation of Cultural Heritage attached to the Department of Cultural and Social Art History (HiCSA) of the Paris 1 Panthéon- Sorbonne University is holding a colloquium on The resconstraction of music and the transmission of intangible heritage a reconstitución de la música y la transmisión del patrimonio inmaterial at the Colbert Auditorium in Paris. The university is bringing together a number of music research scholars to further technical knowledge of music and to understand the ideas that inspire artistic work and the importance of recovering and preserving intangible heritage.
During the meeting La Capella de Ministrers will perform a concert from the programme “La Cite des Dames. Las mujeres y la música en la Edad Media”, which recreates through music the city of ladies created by Christine de Pizan (c.1364–1430) back in the fifteenth century, providing a different approach to understanding Spanish and European music. La Capella des Ministrers is directed by Carles Magraner, a musician and musicologist who has been involved in studying, recovering and performing early music for years.
