On June 1, 2023, 93 years after its first edition, the Concert of the Foreign Academies is held in Rome. The Royal Academy of Spain in Rome celebrates its 150th Anniversary (1873-2023) by offering a new edition of a historic concert: the one carried out in 1929 by the Spanish, French and American Academies with the collaboration of the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia. An exercise to promote –from culture– alliances, cooperation and peace.
The concert, organized by the Royal Academy of Spain in Rome, the RTVE Symphony Orchestra and Acción Cultural Española, will take place on June 1, 2023 at 6:30 p.m. at the Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome.
The Spanish Radio and Television Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of José Luis Temes, will perform the music of former scholarship holders from the Spanish, French, American and German Academies. This program, in which María de Pablos, the first female resident at the Academy of Spain (1928-32), will play again, has been devised by maestro José Ramón Encinar.
