Ana Pez | Comic residency in Angoulême 2025

Ana Pez is the illustrator selected for this residency, organized by Acción Cultural Española (AC/E) and the Cité internationale de la bande dessinée et de l'image, with the collaboration of the French Embassy in Spain, which takes place in La Maison des Auteurs de Angoulême (France) for six months, between January and June 2025.

Ana Pez (Madrid, 1987) began illustrating in 2012 for the publishing world and since then she has not stopped collaborating with national and international publishers.Her work has been selected and exhibited among others at the Mostra degli Illustratoride Bologna (Italy), the Ilustrarte Biennial (Portugal) and the Ibero-American Catalog of Illustration (Mexico).

Her books “My Little Invisible Brother” and “Cinematográfico” have been awarded at the Bologna Ragazzi Awards in 2015 and 2020. In 2016 she received the BD Amadora for best foreign children's author in Lisbon.

She has participated in several group exhibitions, highlighting her two individual exhibitions: “Pure and white fish” at the Araña gallery, Madrid, in 2020; and “Lend me a hand, cousin” in Estudio 64, Valencia, in 2023. In addition to her books, she dedicates herself to illustration through teaching and muralism.

The residency offered in Angouleme aims to promote creation in the specific field of comics. To this end, it facilitates the realization of a project selected for its artistic values and its innovative nature in this matter. It also aims to facilitate the creation of collaboration networks, promote the mobility of national creators abroad, encourage creative production by offering residencies for creators and strengthen links between cultural institutions in France and Spain.
