Comic mit Akzent

Comic mit Akzent

This publication aims to disseminate a selection of 15 short and unpublished works by Spanish cartoonists in Germany, under the coordination of André Höchemer and Álvaro Pons, on the occasion of the participation of Spain as Guest of Honor at the Frankfurt Book Fair 2022. Its objective is to strengthen the presence of the Spanish comic strip genre in Germany, the most important market for the publishing sector in Europe, where, however, Spanish comics remain little known, despite living through one of the brightest moments of their story.

“Comic Mit Akzent” is also a dialogue between two countries that offers us a unique look at each other and ourselves. The comics cover themes about Germany and our perception of the Germans, drawn with very personal styles that go from manga to the purest classic style. Each of them is accompanied by a short biography of the author and a QR code that connects to his website.

The cartoonists participating are: Agustín Ferrer Casas, Ana Oncina, Ana Penyas, Cristina Durán and Miguel Ángel Giner Bou, David Rubín, Santiago García and Javier Olivares, Antonio Altarriba y Keko, Genie Espinosa, Ken Nijimura, Mamen Moreu, Max, Mayte Alvarado, Miguelanxo Prado, Nadia Hafid, Núria Tamarit and Paco Roca. Also: Álvaro Pons, André Höchemer, Elena Masarah, Asier Mensuro, Noelia Ibarra, and MacDiego.
