Climavore is a performative dinner at the Contemporary Arts Festival Colomboscope. AC/E supports the participation of Spanish artist Daniel Fernández Pascual to explore cases of environmental effects of climate change from along the Sri Lankan coastline with some other examples from across the world. The installation functions as a dining table with free tastings of recipes inspired by the effects of climate change, activated by Cooking section in collaboration with local stakeholders, residents and researchers. The performative meals will feature the environmental challenges of Sri Lankan waters and take place at Barefoot Gallery and Cafe in Colombo, one of the main venues of Colomboscope 2019.
This 6th edition "Sea Change" will explore the oceanic frontier, entwining marine ecologies and seafaring histories to conceive an archipelago of ideas through newly commissioned and recent works involving visual arts, film, literature, and live performance. Through an itinerary of venues located along the coastline of Colombo, the festival will unfold in chapters surveying hidden histories of the island and its harbour , accelerated infrastructural developments that shape future expansion of the city.
