Villafranca del Bierzo celebrates with music and poetry the centenary of the birth of its most illustrious poet and storyteller, Antonio Pereira. Organized by the Antonio Pereira Foundation with the support of the Junta de Castilla y León, Acción Cultural Española (AC/E), the University of León and the Villfranca City Council, this tribute takes place on June 24 and 25 in the Garden of the Mall.
June 24 at 10 p.m. It is the day dedicated to music with performances by Manuel Ferrero, Rafaria Montecristo, Ainda, Carlos Solito, Esther Lanzón, José Manuel Sabugo and Marcos Mendo, Rodrigo Martínez and Santiago Auserón.
June 25 at 12:30 p.m. is poetry with the presence and recitals of Antonio Gamoneda, Jual Carlos Mestre, Isla Correyero, Juan A. González Iglesias, Niall Binns, Migual Ángel Curiel and Cuco Pérez.
The event ends with the discovery of a sculpture dedicated to Antonio Pereira.
