iKapa Dance Theatre (iKapa), in collaboration with Artscape Theatre Centre and Battery Dance Company (BDC), has organised the first Cape Town International Dance Festival. This year twelve international companies will show their work at various venues and through a variety of platforms.
The festival has a strong social emphasis and brings performances to audiences of all economic and social levels in both conventional and non-conventional spaces in the area.
Spanish dance company ENTOMO EA&AE, which is attending the festival as a guest, is supported by AC/E through the Programme for the Internationalisation of Spanish Culture. As well as presenting its work, Entomo holds workshops with local artists and dance students of the suburbs and poorest communities in the city.
