Bullshit Mex is a show of stage pieces by Ibero-American artists that aims to further the exchange of knowledge with regard to the processes of research and creation in the living arts. The works presented over five days at the Museo Universitario del Chopo are multidisciplinary in character, incorporating elements of performance, dance, theatre and music.
A total of 19 creators from Spain, Uruguay, Brazil, Chile and Mexico will present 17 pieces to the public. The spirit that brings together artists in this exhibition is the reflection on the mutability of creative processes, the persistence of experimentation and the interest in establishing links between the community of artists. Bullshit Mex will also include conversations with artists and specialists about their artistic experience and their creative work on show.
This first edition in Mexico is a continuation of Bullshit Fest, held at the Teatro Pradillo in Madrid in 2016, which focused on the processes of investigation in live arts. It was realized by the students of the Masters in Scenic Practices and Visual Culture at the University of Castilla La Mancha. This festival contributed to expanding the networking, debate and thought, as well as generating encounters that allowed the exchange of visions and knowledge within the artistic field, and it established a network of cooperation between the local community and the international participants.
