Budapest International Guitar Festival, organised by the Eotvos Music Foundation, is held at the prestigious Liszt Academy, where musicians of the stature of Béla Bartok and Zoltan Kodaly studied. Andrés Segovia, a personal friend of Kodaly, even gave two recitals in the great hall of the Academy, which is hailed as the epicentre classical music in Hungary. With the collaboration of AC/E, the festival features a recital by Spanish guitarist Ricardo Gallen. This year’s event plays tribute to Cuban composer Leo Brower, who has close ties to Andalusia and is currently Conductor Emeritus of the Symphonic Orchestra of Córdoba, which he headed for more than ten years.
