Boston GuitarFest 2016: Viva España

Boston GuitarFest 2016: Viva España

BGF celebrates the mixture of cultures that has given us the irresistible Spanish sound. Oscar Ghiglia, former assistant of the great Andrés Segovia returns as resident guru. Joaquín Clerch performs the works of Falla and José. Grisha Goryachev brings flamenco virtuosity to Jordan Hall. Anabel Montesinos with the support of AC/E delights with the sounds of her homeland. Adam Levin presents Spanish works from new composers. Eliot Fisk premieres a work of Leonardo Balada based on the songs of Lorca.

BGF offers concerts, master classes and lessons taught by guest artists. Our adult guitar performance competition, includes in the jury Catalan guitarist Anabel Montesinos.

Spanish virtuoso Anabel Montesinos will delight audiences with the authentic sounds of her homeland in a program featuring Valses poeticos by Enrique Granados (Lleida), Fantasía sobre motivos de la Traviata by Francisco Tárrega (Villarreal), and the famous Introduction and Variations on a Theme by Mozart, Op.9 by Fernando Sor (Barcelona).
