Amaia Prieto Atxotegi and Jorge Suárez-Kilzi are the winners of this residency aimed at two Spanish designers or architects (or residents in Spain) who will be able to enjoy from May 27 to July 7, 2024 at Domaine de Boisbuchet.
Amaia Prietio Atxotegi: “I like to say about myself that I am a product designer always in process. Because? Because I believe that design is never finished. It is infinite, and therefore my process is also infinite. For 3 years this process has taken the inevitable direction of sustainability, and that is the reason why designing with waste has become my path.”
Jorge Suárez-Kilzi: Spanish-Syrian-Venezuelan designer and architect based in Barcelona. His work reflects on the role of objects in social and contemplative life in the 21st century. With a great emotional, symbolic and expressive charge, he takes inspiration from the ancient and permanent, in turn giving soul and character to his creations. The pieces he builds are intended to accompany and comfort.
Domaine de Boisbuchet is an international research center on design and architecture. The campus is surrounded by 150 hectares of protected nature in southwestern France and comprises an architectural park of historic and contemporary buildings.
