The Bogota Film Festival began in 1984 and since its second edition included, along with national film productions, that one of the Andean countries. It also tributes annually to the film industries from Caribbean, South America, Spain, France, Africa, the Pacific, Italy , Spain, Argentina, Chile, Brazil, China, Japan, Korea, Egypt, Germany, India, Turkey and the Philippines. The Festival has always been known internationally for its quality .
The Festival is recognized by the International Federation of Film Producers Associations, FIAPF Festivals governing entity, as a World Festival specializes in feature films of New Directors.
