Blind.wiki is is an interactive, community-based smartphone project that invites citizens who are blind or visually impaired to share their own experiences of the difficulties they encouter in their day-to-day lives. It is intended not only as a list of barriers to accessibility but also as a repository of collectively created stories designed to provide a view of the urban landscape as it is experienced daily by people who are blind or visually impaired.
This project, developed by the Spanish artist Antoni Abad, aspires to become an international network where people with problems of vision can share and compare the degree of accessibility of various cities.
The project will be presented during the Art & About collaborative art festival in Sydney from 18 September to 11 October 2015.
