Biennale d'Architecture d'Orléans #2

For the second edition of the Biennale d’Architecture d’Orléans, six guest curators have been invited to tell tales of solitude from around the world, in places where architecture is still a form of engagement with reality and a “promise” for freedom.

Des rêves vus de près [Dreams Seen Up Close] looks back on the resistance of the Brazilian group Arquitetura Nova confronting the Brazilian dictatorship (1964–1985).

The work of Arquitetura Nova will be showcased for the first time ever in a selection of drawings, images and texts from the archives of FAU USP (Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism of the University of São Paulo), IEB (Institute of Brazilian Studies) and the personal archive of Sérgio Ferro.

AC/E is covering the travel expenses, through the PICE Mobility grants, of the Spanish guests invited to take part. This support is aimed at internationalising the visual arts sector by encouraging Spanish artists to take part in exhibition platforms for art like this Biennale.
