The series Beyond Flamenco starts in 2012, with the aim of serving as a platform for emerging artists who are forging a style and who will undoubtedly be the great figures of the future. In its previous editions it has counted on the participation of the Shica, Silvia Perez Cross or the Niño de Elche, among others.
Beyond Flamenco London 2017 is celebrated in the Lilian Baylis Studio, with the performances of Rocío Márquez and Santiago Lara, supported by AC/E Mobility Grants.
The art of flamenco and the respect for the tradition reinvented in the mouth of Rocío Márquez, a young woman from Huelva who already caused a sensation in 2008 after obtaining the Mining Lamp of the Festival of the Song of the Mines of the Union and the four first prizes,–until The moment had only achieved Miguel Poveda–. With only thirty years it interweaves tradition and avant-garde to claim a free cante and without ties like the one defended the longed Enrique Morente.
In the recital that offers in London is accompanied by Miguel Angel Cortes to the guitar and Los Mellis in the choirs.
