BAFF 2018. Beirut Art Film Festival

BAFF 2018. Beirut Art Film Festival

AC/E supports the participation in this year's festival of Xavi Campreciós to present his film "Mies on Scene, Barcelona in two acts". A reflection on the transformative capacity of art, the emotional perception of space and the concept of marterpiece, the film tells the story of the Barcelona Pavilion, the masterpiece with which Mies van der Rohe and Lilly Reich staged their revolutionary ideas in 1929 and changed the history of architecture forever. It only existed for eight months but paradoxically its image was always alive in the minds of generations of architects around the world, becoming one of his greatest influences. The Pavilion is still surrounded by myths and mysteries that this documentary addresses, framing the building into a portrait in two acts of the Barcelona that made possible its construction in 1929 and its reconstruction in 1986.

BAFF is an annual festival dedicated to culture from all around the world with the screenings of some 60 documentaries on art. Spain is represented every year in the festival through the support of the Embassy of Spain. BAFF is not a contest, but one month dedicated to film and arts. This year, the festival will highlight Water resources in Lebanon and Lebanon heritage. The Spanish films selected are all related to "architecture heritage" and "water".
