Beijing Dance Festival 2015

Beijing Dance Festival 2015

Beijing Dance Festival, together with that of Guangdong and China Dance Forward, is the largest dance network in China. The festival was first held in 2008 and since then it has been alternating between national and international programmes each year, becoming the largest open platform for contemporary dance in China.

This year’s festival is scheduled to run for two weeks: one of educational activities and the other of national and international performances. The activities include a camp for students and teachers from Europe, North America, Asia and China, a symposium on dance with talks and discussions between choreographers and academics, critics and opinion leaders, masterclasses and a young people’s dance marathon with original works by young choreographers from all over China.

AC/E is supporting the participation of choreographer Nuria Botelle Rebull of the dance company Cobosmika through the Mobility programme. Cobosmika is a company created in 2000 by Olga Cobos and Peter Mika with a bold, powerful and masterly choreographic language that combines dance with improvisation and incorporates elements of the martial arts and physical theatre. The Spanish artist will share billing with companies from Australia, Canada, Israel, the Netherlands, Poland, Russia, Slovakia and the United States.
