In-Edit started out in Barcelona in 2003 with the aim of enhancing the status of musical documentary as a film genre. The initiative of Uri Altell and Alberto Pascual (whose brother Cristian would later carry on his work and legacy) caught on in their city of origin and over the years it has successfully spread to more countries.
The 2016 edition of Beefeater In-Edit carries out a historical survey of punk rock by screening films that document the emergence of the movement on both sides of the Atlantic, portray various icons of the genre and even project the spirit of punk onto an apocalyptic fiction. Punk was a musical explosion that shook the whole culture spectrum – art, fashion, photography, design and literature. The event looks back to 1976, when the Ramones first played in the United Kingdom, bands like The Damned and Buzzcocks were formed, the Sex Pistols made their first scandalous TV appearance, and many young people identified with the song “Anarchy in the UK” as a generational outcry.
