Aitziber Olaskoaga, co-authored, together with Pilar Monsell, of the winning project "Sewing Machine Principle" will travel to Toronto to create the first prototype of her invention SEE-W-ING MACHINE, a machine that, by combining a film projector [16] mm and / or super 8 mm] with a sewing machine, will allow to sew fabrics and project films at the same time.
The evaluation commission integrated by a representative of the three entities responsible for the call, Liaison of Independent Filmmakers of Toronto - LIFT, (S8) Mostra Internacioanal de Cinema Periférico of A Coruña and Acción Cultural Española (AC/E), has decided that this proposal was selected to be developed during six weeks in Toronto in this second edition of BAICC - International Artistic Residencies of Cinematographic Creation 2018.
Acción Cultural Española (AC/E) co-organizes this second edition of the programme of artistic residencies together with (S8) Mostra Internacional de Cinema Periférico and LIFT-Liaison of Independent Filmmakers that will take place in Lift's facilities at Toronto.
All those born or resident in Spain willing to create an analogic film at the LIFT facilities in Canada were eligible for the programme, which last between 4 and 6 weeks.
The residency dates are from January to March 2019.
The registration was be made in an online form and attach the specific documentation in a single PDF document.
The closing date for submitting entries was 17 August.
