The visual artist Enrique del Castillo Carrasco has been chosen by the evaluation committee to enjoy the residency at Meet Factory (Prague) with the project "Soundtrait film series"; Pablo Martefor Dos Mares (Marseille), in collaboration with the IF; and Cristina Mejíass for Artworks (Povoa de Varzim, Porto), in collaboration with the Portuguese Embassy.
The Matadero Madrid Artist Residency Center, in collaboration with AC/E, the Goethe Institute, the Institut Français, the Czech Cultural Center and the Portuguese Embassy in Spain, is launching a new mobility program with the aim of promoting exchange and internationalization of artists and curators. It does so in collaboration with four centers from as many countries to guarantee the mobility of creators and the development of new work networks. This program aims to be a catalyst for experiences that operates in the connection between artists, curators, researchers and the general public. In addition, it seeks to foster debate on contemporary art and stimulate the development of critical theories and transdisciplinary practices in the expanded field of Visual Arts.
Visual artist residencies take place at Dos Mares, ArtWorks, MeetFactory and DAAD Artist-in-Berlin. Each residence has unique specific objectives and for this reason the applications must be directed to a single residence.

Dos Mares (Marseille)
Aimed at: visual artists.
This residency is aimed at artists who wish to work on their personal proposal, also from a critical point of view, without any obligation to actually produce objects. It aims to promote research and reflection on the artistic concerns that have emerged in recent years, such as the role of the artist in society, the way in which creators, works of art and cultural organizations affect people and their social settings, and how creative practice can be operational to empower individuals, communities and societies in given contexts.
Dos Mares is a curatorial platform of transnational and interconnected support programs for artists and researchers to promote research and innovation in art. The center supports artists and researchers in thinking about their practice, developing their professional network, critically analyzing their work, producing interdisciplinary knowledge, implementing translocal practices, commoning, and intercultural collaborations.
No Entulho, ArtWorks (Póvoa de Varzim, Porto)

This residency is designed to be a production residency where the beneficiary artist will be able to put into practice, from experimentation, work processes for the realization of physical works through the use of different materials. This program, therefore, aims at experimentation as a production process from materials with an upcycling component, with the intention of guiding the direction of a more resistant practice, through which equitable access opportunities are promoted. to resources. The entire residency takes place in a center specialized in the production of works of art, therefore, the residents will live directly with other artists who will be in the production process, and will have the support of different specialist technicians. Likewise, there will be curatorial accompaniment by No Entulho and a program of visits and contact with the artistic fabric of Porto.
Meet Factory (Praga)
Aimed at: visual artists.
This call is aimed at projects focused on sustainability as a method and not as a theme. Projects that offer new approaches and visions on sustainability for the future and that deepen the understanding of the relationships between art and nature will be valued. The resident will work in a non-permanent community that will include artists from all over the world. Those artistic projects that incorporate reflection and a new approach to studio work in times of climate crisis will be especially valued.
DAAD astists-in-Berlin program

The DAAD runs a program for artists in Berlin (the DAAD astists-in-Berlin program) which is one of the most recognized residency programs for international artists and cultural professionals in the fields of visual arts, film, literature and music and sound. Every year, it grants residencies in Berlin to around twenty prominent cultural producers. In addition to being able to focus on their creative work, encounters with other artists and cultural producers stimulate transdisciplinary cooperation and initiate reciprocal learning processes between residents.
