Documental Ambulante A.C. is a non-profit organization, founded in 2005 by Gael García Bernal, Diego Luna, Pablo Cruz and Elena Fortes. It is dedicated to support and disseminate documentary film as a tool for cultural and social transformation. Ambulante promotes cultural exchange, and a participative, critical and wise attitude in the spectator. It also opens new ways of expression and reflection in Mexico and abroad.
Ambulante Documentary Tour is the largest documentary film festival in Mexico and a unique exhibition space in the world. In its thirteenth edition, Ambulante will travel through eight states with an extensive program consisting of the screening of 70 films, all of them awarded at the most important international film festivals, and 1,000 activities that include screenings in public spaces, dialogue tables, films, theater- perfomance, workshops, excursions, forums and master classes.

Film workshop by Eloy Enciso and the presentation of his movie "Arraianos"
A double function, in which to present the film "Arraianos" to the public. The four days workshop (15 hours) with the director will address the construction of identities through film and image together with some exercises and practical experiences of observation, listening, study in detail the environment and ourselves. It aims to help students bring sense and emotion with the minimum of cinematographic elements, a search for the essential things.
Workshop "The portrait and its distances" and the work of Virginia del Pino
Development of a workshop to study the different cinematographic ways of showing how to investigate the possibility of making a portrait that transcends the physical representation and leaves a trace of human presence. A method of approaching reality will be show and how to film the transcental. In parallel, the most representative works of Virginia del Pino will be screened.
Film programming and Spanish cinema selection workshop
During four days (15 hours) this workshop aims to show the keys of film programming. What does it mean to program, what is it, how to exercise the trade between the fashions, criteria and personality? Is programming to accumulate titles, or is it rather a way of thinking collectively together with the spectators? Is programming a purely theoretical exercise, or are there practical aspects that determine the possible versus the ideal? In addition, they will develop four representative programs of contemporary Spanish cinema, curated and commented by Gonzalo de Pedro.
Workshop"Cinema in progress: Cinema in the classroom", proposal and methodologies by Nuria Aidelman.
'Cinema in progress' is a structural programme of cinema pedagogy in schools and institutes. It has two main objectives: To promote discovery by through film understood as art, creation and culture. To develop the pedagogical aspects of cinematographic creation in the educational context.
Presentation of the documentary "Many children, a monkey and a castle" and Q&A with the director
As part of the Ambulante 2018 documentary tour, they have scheduled 10 outdoor performances of this film in different public squares around the country, as well as 10 performances in cultural and educational institutions of the national circuit. At the end of the sreenings, a dialogue will be held with Gustavo Salmerón to learn about his creative and production processes, as well as concerns of the audience he attends.
