Alcine, Alcalá de Henares Film Festival, which has a 46-year track record, is a key event in the Spanish and European short film sector. Hosted by this city in central Spain, it is one of the oldest and most prestigious festivals in the country and its main purpose is to discover talented new filmmakers.
From 4 to 11 November Alcine46 features a broad variety of activities, prominent among which are the national and European short film competitions, and two sections devoted to Spanish feature-length films by new filmmakers. There are also several educational programmes for children and young people and for learning languages. The side events are centred on topical issues and new film trends together with street projections, exhibitions and concerts, among others.
