Aichi Triennale is an international art festival aimed at showcasing as fully as possible the artistic activities of the present day – including the visual arts, images in movement, music, the performing arts and opera. It is a unique opportunity to discover the connection with the intrinsic nature of art before its branching into specialist genres. It also provides an open forum where contemporary artists can uninhibitedly exchange ideas and knowledge through creation, sharing moments of inspiration.
The 2016 edition is being held under the artistic direction of Chihiro Minato in the cities of Nagoya, Toyohashi and Okazaki in the prefecture of Aichi, from 11 August to 23 October. The theme is ‘Homo Faber: A Rainbow Caravan’.
‘A Rainbow Caravan’ sets out to recreate mankind’s journey as a caravan travelling towards the unknown – the type of journey that always takes the form of an endless quest driven by curiosity.
