Theatre and University. The yesterday and today of a theatrical utopia Vista general de la exposición La Barraca

Theatre and University. The yesterday and today of a theatrical utopia

The exhibition, which will be travelling to close on a dozen locations across Spain, is an essentially educational and interactive project, divided into six thematic sections, allowing visitors to explore this theatrical and educational venture by means of photographs, models, information sheets, documents, press articles, figures, graphic elements, audiovisual materials and a range of props.

The show's curator, Javier Huerta, has divided the exhibition into six modules taking the form of travelling actors' trunks and cases, presenting visitors with an assembled collection of exhibits. They provide a direct insight into the course plotted by Lorca's theatre group, La Barraca (or 'The Shack') through six sections: La Barraca echa a andar (La Barraca sets off on its travels), Quiénes fueron los ‘barracos’ (Whom were the 'shack folk'?); La Barraca en la universidad (La Barraca at the University), Los nuevos cómicos de la Legua (The New Comics of La Legua), El fin de un sueño (The End of a Dream) and La Barraca vuelve a los caminos de España (La Barraca Returns to Spanish Pathways).
