The Carpe Diem Arte e Pesquisa venue located in the Palacio Pombal organizes a calendar of events intended to incorporate cultural and educational initiatives within the city of Lisbon by means of an extensive multidisciplinary programme. Since its creation in 2009 the venue has taken a particular interest in showcasing contemporary Spanish art, this being the fourth project by a Spanish artist, Carlos Macià, to be shown at the Palacio Pombal.
The project presented by Macià in this exhibition, ST.provisória, continues the line of work pursued by the artist for some time: playing with the actual architecture housing the work, directly manipulating the space of the Palacio Pombal with invasive painting which takes over its spaces, highlighting the current difficulty in establishing limits in the most orthodox artistic media. These initial interventions will extend until the exhibition comes to a close, as Macià's intention is to create a work in progress, leaving the project open up until its conclusion.
