A century of images, sounds and emotions through a selection of one hundred and twenty photographs, some of them never exhibited before or rarely published, taking us on a journey through the history and evolution of Spanish film. The exhibition also brings together a mosaic of the most commonly recurring themes and motifs of the seventh art in Spain, with a particular section dedicated to the actor and director Fernando Fernán Gómez.
Cine español. I Una crónica visual (Spanish film. A visual chronicle) also features a selection of posters from different periods, in homage to all the painters and illustrators who managed to turn their output into an art form.
The exhibition closes with the audiovisual work Cerca y lejos. Imágenes del cine español (Near and Far. Images of Spanish Film), which includes more than sixty fragments of films from the 1940s up to the present day. Famous, startling, experimental and musical scenes through which to relive the finest moments of the history of the seventh art in Spain.
