Insular Horizons. Retrato del naúfrago, de Sandra Ramos

Insular Horizons.

Twelve artists are involved in this collective, hailing from eleven outlying regions or islands around the globe: the Canaries, the Azores, Madeira, Cape Verde, Cuba, the Dominican Republic, Guyana, Puerto Rico, Guadeloupe, La Réunion and Martinique. Britto and Palenzuela selected these territories and their respective cultural maps, visited these spaces and explored in depth the artistic and literary output of numerous artists, including the ones that are now involved in the initiative. In total, together with these 12 plastic artists, 36 creative spirits from various locations have contributed their cultural output to this large-scale project. All with the aim of demonstrating the vitality and wealth of contemporary cultural creation in these regions, while also offering new horizons and channels for knowledge, communication and exchange.
