Durante el Año Dual España-Rusia 2011 se presentan más de 300 proyectos e iniciativas que ambos países han organizado con este motivo en diversos ámbitos como el arte, la economía, la empresa, la ciencia y la educación.
 
Este acontecimiento se inauguró el pasado mes de mayo en San Petersburgo con la inauguración de la exposición El Prado en el Hermitage a la que asistieron SS.MM los Reyes de España y el Presidente de Rusia Medvédev.
 
A finales de este año, el diálogo entre museos culminará cuando el Prado presente en Madrid Tesoros del Hermitage a través de 170 piezas-arqueológicas, objetos de artes decorativas, pinturas, esculturas y dibujos del museo ruso, que mostrarán la variedad y amplitud de sus colecciones desde el siglo V a. C. hasta el siglo XX.
