The documentary, filmed in Madrid and Galicia, focuses on the fictional characters created by Valle-Inclán. They are given the task of explaining the figure of this literary genius, reflecting on his works, commenting on his statements and setting out his experiences. Juan Diego and Juan Luis Galiardo give voice to the characters of Don Juan Manuel de Montenegro and the Marqués de Bradomín. Together with them, the narrator Javier Godino (Los muertos no se tocan, nene , El secreto de tus ojos) and Fátima Rey (who teaches at the Fundación Valle-Inclán’s Valle-Innova Drama School), Xerardo Pardo de Vera, a known admirer and student of Valle-Inclán's work, play the role of interrupting the dialogue between the two and their respective monologues.
The actors are also joined by writers Suso del Toro, Manuel Rivas and Ignacio Amestoy, as well as academics specialising in Valle-Inclán: Margarita Sánchez Zas, of the Spanish Literature Department at the Universidad de Santiago de Compostela; Jesús Rubio Jiménez, of the Spanish Philology Department at the Universidad de Zaragoza; Javier Serrano, Lecturer at the School of Humanities, Universidad de Santiago de Compostela; Pepi Bauló, of the Valle-Inclán Research Workshop; Ángela Ena Bordonada, of the Spanish Philology Department at the Universidad Complutense; Julia Labrador, Alberto Insúa and José Luis García Barrientos, all three belonging to the Human and Social Sciences Centre, and journalist Manolo Gómez.
