The young guitarist Amós Lora offers a concert at the festival within the programme of "Spanish accent", with the support of AC/E. In his new quartet, he will be accompanied by two Cubans – the pianist Luis Guerra and the contrabass player Reinier Elizarde “El Negrón” – along with the percussionist Manu Masaedo from Barcelona. In addition, one day before his performance, the documentary "Children of Famenco" will be shown, about the career of Lora himself and the flamenco singer Abraham Motos.
The program also includes Jordi Savall, one of the most outstanding figures in the world in the interpretation of ancient music. Savall will present his great Jerusalem project in Prague Spring, with which he returns to the Czech capital after nine years. Jerusalem, a city with five thousand years of history, is the place where the three great monotheistic religions of the Mediterranean coincide, which functions as a kind of metaphor for the current world.
"Acento Español" is the theme of the 73rd edition of the festival that continues an anthological cycle developed during three consecutive editions, 2016-2018, with the purpose of bringing the most Spanish musicians to the Central European context. The Czech festival has always shown great interest in Spanish music and Acción Cultural Española (A /E) has suported from the begining.
The Prague Spring International Music Festival is the most prestigious classical music festival in the country, which is held every year in May since 1946 in Prague. It is a permanent showcase for the best performers, symphony orchestras and music groups in Prague.
